Approach of New laptop battery before using
I. Purpose:
1) Ensure that the new laptop batteries can automatically learn and update the battery full charge capacity (FCC), to make the actual working capacity close to design capacity;
2) To ensure that a new battery remaining capacity and the actual capacity synchronous;
Now we illustrate the process by Dell inspiron 6400 battery:
1) If the computer is using plug-in power management devices, please turn off the plug-in power management procedures;
2) returns to desktop, right click mouse, select “Properties” button;
3) Select “Properties” button, the computer will pop up the “Display Properties” window;
4) Click the “Screen Saver”, set the “screen saver option” as None, press the “Apply” button to enable this option;
5) Click “Power Options” button, open the Power Options Properties window, set “ power off monitor”, “Turn off hard disks” and “system standby” as “never”, and save as “active cell”, click “Apply” button to enable the battery to use programs;
6) Click on the switch to “alert” option, choose low-battery alarm “When the power to lower the following level, the issue of low-battery alert,” click “Apply” button to enable this option; Select a serious shortage of the battery alarm “When the power down to lower level to the following issue a severe shortage of the battery alarm.”
7) Click on the low-battery “alarm operation” button, and remove the low-battery warning operation of all options, click “OK” button.
Click on the serious shortage of power”alarm operation” button, and remove theserious shortage of power warning operation of all options, click “OK” button.
Click the “sleep” option, choose not to enable hibernation, click the “Apply” button to enable this option;
9) Click “OK” button to exit “Power Options” Properties window and the “display” Properties window;
10) connected to the power and start the computer, plug the battery into the laptop to charge the battery until the battery capacity becomes 100% or charge indicator light directed to stop charging the state to verify that the computer has stopped charging.
11) Remove the external power supply, put it aside or normal use, until the computer automatically shut down, data backup must be taken to prevent the computer suddenly shut down led to data loss.
12)Restore the Properties option. Your battery will be able to properly use and to maximize its usefulness.
Attention:
1) If the computer has to use plug-in power management device, please re-enable the plug-in power management procedures;
2) If the new battery full charge capacity (FCC) failed to meet the nominal capacity of more than 90%, according to the method above to re-do it again.
3) If the new battery by the above method to re-do it again, the full charge capacity (FCC) is still unable to reach a nominal capacity of more than 90%, then determine the battery performance may be poor, or the battery quality problems.
